A game without player accounts

NYC 2050 does not ask for names, ages, email addresses, location, photos, or other personal information. The game includes no advertising, tracking analytics, chat, uploads, payments, or public leaderboard.

Your game runs in your browser. Game progress stays in memory and is not sent to a game server or saved in cookies or browser storage. Reloading the page starts a new run. The game does not request camera, microphone, or location access.

What hosting involves

Your browser must contact a hosting provider to download the game. The provider may process IP addresses, request times, browser information, and security logs to deliver and protect the site. These infrastructure practices are separate from the game, and this notice does not promise that the hosting provider collects no data.

On a chatgpt.site address, the hosting platform is OpenAI Sites. On a pages.dev address, the hosting platform is Cloudflare Pages. Their applicable privacy policies describe their processing: OpenAI privacy policy and Cloudflare privacy policy.

For families and educators

Anyone can play without submitting personal information. All people shown in the game are simulated characters. Following an external source link opens another website whose privacy practices apply there. Please do not submit children's personal information through external services on behalf of this game.

A simplified educational simulation

This is not an emergency service, medical advice, or a forecast. Building uses, cooling locations, populations, dimensions, costs, and intervention effects are illustrative. Do not use the game map to find a real cooling center. For real heat-safety information, visit NYC's official heat guidance.

Credits

Map rendering uses MapLibre GL JS, under its BSD 3-Clause license. Geographic layers derive from NYC public geographic datasets; the playable network and building uses have been simplified for this game. The project is independent and is not endorsed by NYC or the creators of other games. Development and artwork used substantial AI assistance.
